The press mark

Cookies in this house

A cookie is a small mark a site asks your browser to keep. Some marks are needed for the page to remember a choice; others help a publisher count visits. This house uses very few. Refusing the optional ones does not lock any board, rate, or letter. For how we handle personal data more generally, read How we keep a record.

Types we use

Essential. The preference that records whether you accepted or rejected this notice, so the banner does not return every visit. The site will function if you reject; we will simply ask again on a later device or after the mark expires.

Analytics. We may use a simple visit count to learn which journal notes are read. These marks do not fire unless you Accept. They are not used to follow you across unrelated houses.

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not drop a mark to resurrect a banner you already answered on this browser.

The preference is kept in local storage under the same name as the first row. That is still a choice we treat like a cookie for this notice.

How to manage or disable

Use Accept or Reject on the banner. You may also clear stored data for panelmatrixbase.digital in your browser settings, or set the browser to block marks from this house. After a clear, the banner will return. Blocking all marks may also forget other sites’ logins; that is the browser’s affair, not ours.

Third-party cookies

Type is loaded from Google Fonts. That request may allow Google to see your IP address and the font files you fetched. We do not control Google’s marks. If you block third-party requests, the pages still read; the typeface may fall back to a system serif.

We do not embed maps, video players, or comment forms that would drop further third-party cookies.

If you disable

Essential refusal does not hide rates, boards, or the writing desk. Optional analytics simply will not run. The only nuisance is that the banner may appear again on a new device.
